Since the 1950's the McIlvride Practice has sought to practise the values of "family medicine". In the setting of today's Primary Care we aim to maintain this concept, incorporating the best possible care for our patients with the benefits of modern development and technology.
McIlvride Medical Practice serves the whole of Poynton and the surrounding area. Our team includes 4 GP's, an advanced nurse practitioner, a nurse clinician, 2 practice nurses, as well as our practice managers, administration team and reception staff.
At McIlvride Medical Practice, we aim to treat all our patients promptly, courteously and in complete confidence. We feel it is important you know who you are speaking to, so our practice staff wear a name badge and identify themselves on the telpehone.
We are a 'training practice'. This means medical students wanting to enter the profession spend time with us in order to gain the experience they need to become doctors. As a training practice, your medical reports may be used for educational purposes.
The surgery will be closed for staff training on the afternoon of the first Wednesday in each month. A notice will be displayed advising of the close down. Urgent medical attention can be obtained from NHS111 by dialling 111.
From 1st April 2016 ALL patients will be allocated a 'Named GP' who will have overall responsibility for the care and support that our surgery provides to them. You may request a specific GP for your allocation and such requests can be made, in writing, to the Practice Manager. However, this does not prevent you from seeing a GP of your choice at any time.
